Runcorn RC Autumn Small Boats Head Race

Traditionally, Runcorn R C Autumn Small Boats Head Race is raced in challenging weather conditions on the River Weaver however this year it will be remembered for the sunshine and high temperatures the rowers had to endure. This race attracts a lot of entries from the region as it is the first long distance race of the winter season for many.
Northwich Rowing Club sent a number of crews to the event held on Sat 1 October. The younger junior crews race a shorter distance of 2,500 meters while the older juniors, seniors and masters race the longer distance of 4,500 meters.
The club was delighted to return with four wins.
Two wins in the morning division, the Women’s Masters C/D coxed four continue their unbroken run of wins through the year in this category and WJ14A coxed quad.
Two wins in the afternoon division, the Masters D/E coxed four and J13 coxed quad having a very decisive win in this their first long distance race finishing well ahead of their rivals Warrington and Runcorn.
