Dee Head 29-Oct-11

Grosvenor Rowing Club hosts the annual Head race in Chester, Cheshire, which attracted over 200 entries to this year’s contest.  Racing starts at the A55 bridge, south of Chester, and finishes 4000m downstream as the River Dee winds its way into the city centre.

The club had two status wins and five second places, including a strong performance from the WJ16 squad who won Women's Novice 8's convincingly in a time of 14:34.6, 1minute and 32s ahead of the next competitor in that category.

Ed Grisdale won Intermediate 1 singles and was the fastest single sculler of the day at 14:09.  He competed with Royal Chester Rowing Club in the morning division winning Intermediate 1 quadruple sculls. 

Ed has just returned from the first round of trials for the U23 GB rowing squad where he performed well on and off the water scoring a personal best in his 2k ergometer test.
