Saturday 9th April – Junior Inter Regional Championships at Nottingham

Two Crews from Northwich represented the North West at the Inter Regional Championships at Nottingham:

WJ16 Eight
A mixed Northwich RC and Grange School crew represented the North West as a WJ16 Eight after securing a first place at Runcorn in the North West trials. They achieved a great result by achieving a Bronze and were only just pipped for Silver by Thames Upriver in the last 750 Metres.

Another success for the North West ensured that they were able to secure the Victor Ludorum for the Women’s Title.
 

Katie Meehan, Chloe Tully, Alex Walton, Emma Chaplin and Alice Elliott   represented Northwich Rowing Club
J15 Four
An all Northwich Crew secured their place after securing a first place at Runcorn against other regional crews in March. They were able to secure a  Final Place after qualifying in sixth place in the heats and were able to better this is in the final, by finishing in fifth place and just missing fourth by less than one second.

Their result contributed and enabled the North West to achieve 3rd place overall.

Northwich Spring Head 17th April 2011

Fantastic weather conditions greeted the competitors for this event it felt like a mid-summer regatta

The WALTER BENYON Fastest Boat of the day trophy was captured by the Royal Chester IM1.8+

This crew completed the 2350m course in 07:32:15

Bow: Jamie Leighton, Miles McWilliam, Oliver Cocklin, Patrick Stephens, Jonathan Hardie, Ed Harden, Matt Jump, Stroke: Richard Hawkins, Cox: Akash Kotecha (Grange Sch)



Their were 4 NRC Winners:

With a double success for Emma Roberts and Libby Chaplin in their first race together     

Masters Women Coxed Four…Carolyn MacRitchie, Elaine Young, Carol Riddell, Stroke: Clare Briegal, Cox Jonty Moore 


And not to be outdone, the Boys chipped in with J15 Coxed Quad of Nathan Jump, Alex Murphy, Tom Asteriades, Stroke: Liam Adamson , Cox Craig Milne 

And the Masters Men Coxed Four of Dave Annells, Simon Bannister, Geoff Sims, Tom Kilkenny, Cox James Morrison
