The club attended Chester Long Distance Sculls - the first event of the new head racing season.
An annual head race is held over 5km from Eccleston Ferry to the Groves for singles, doubles, quads and Octs. First raced in 1955 the event is in 2 divisions and attracts over 300 competing crews.
For the race the conditions were good - warm and sunny with a strong tailwind in the afternoon.
Northwich entered 8 crews including two WJ18 quads, WJ16 quad, boys J16 quad and double and three single scullers.
One win for NRC Clare Briegal WMasC 1x (masters C single).
Two club members Ed Grisedale and Matt Jump raced in the fastest boat of the day (Royal Chester men's quadruple scull) posting a very fast time of 16 minutes and 30.7 secs. Faster than any other crew by 36 seconds.
